2022 Donald A. Wells Preaching Prize Winner
The Board of Trustees and Staff of the Massachusetts Bible Society are delighted to present Madison Boboltz with the 2022 Donald A. Wells Preaching Prize for her sermon, “Here We Are, Let Us Be: A Call for Image-Bearers to Tend Creation’s Wounds.” This year, our Board of Trustees identified a biblical passage: the New Revised Standard Version of Genesis 1: 26-28. We appreciate how Madison used the scripture to create an exquisite structure to her sermon, as well as the effort to spend time at Walden Pond in order to create voices to personify nature.
Madison Boboltz will complete her MDiv at Boston University School of Theology in Spring 2023. Previously, she discovered her love of theology and realized her own call to ministry during her time at Hardin-Simmons University and Logsdon School of Theology in Abilene, TX. Madison is a certified candidate for ordained ministry in the United Methodist Church and plans to return to central Texas to begin her career as a pastor.
Congratulations, Madison! We wish you, and all of this year's applicants, God’s blessings as you continue to think and grow, preach and serve.
