Is "Catholic Bible study" an oxymoron?

Bio:

The Bible did not figure prominently in the life of Catholics until the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965). Just how far we have come since then was attested by the recent Synod of Bishops on "The Word of God in the Life and Mission of the Church." This talk will contextualize this journey and confront the challenges that will shape its future.

Currently an adjunct Professor of Sacred Scripture in the Master of Arts in Ministry Program at St. John's Seminary, Brighton, Celia Sirois teaches Scripture in a number of adult education and enrichment programs in the Archdiocese of Boston.
