Spring time God, coming alive within us, like pale shoots thrusting through frozen earth, we need your persistent love to disturb the impacted soil of our hearts’ rigidity.
Summer God, growing luxuriously, blossoming with heady scents, holding us in your warm embrace, we need these times of perceived presence to draw upon in cooler seasons.
Autumn God, falling and dying in Christ, etched with the colors of vulnerability, we need the fellowship of your wounds to dignify our brokenness.
Winter God, dormant and distant, starkly challenging our self-absorption, we need your austerity to nudge us into a warm compassion for your suffering ones
—Kate Compston, from GIFTS OF MANY CULTURES
A moving collection of liturgical resources from the global community, GIFTS OF MANY CULTURES will enrich the worship life of congregations in all denominations. Tirabassi and Eddy have developed an anthology of original prayers, poetry, stories and readings for sermons, invocations, calls to worship, confessions, liturgies for Holy Communion and baptism, guided meditations, songs, drawings, and other resources designed around the seasons of the church year.
GIFTS OF MANY CULTURES will help enrich worship, encourage cross-cultural appreciation, facilitate church mission programming, and deepen spiritual understanding across the global community.
